This performance celebrates the musical world of Ralph Ellison. Alongside his writing life, Ellison was an accomplished trumpeter and close with many jazz and other music legends from Satchmo and Duke all the way to Ray Charles and Ornette Coleman.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra member Andy Farber, longtime tenor player, arranger, and section leader, will lead a nine-piece band for these shows (drums, upright bass, piano, two trumpets, one trombone, three saxes/winds)
